Do you ever
think about the harsh words you say to your classmates? Do you ever think about
how they go through in life? Did you ever think about the girl that has bruises
on her arms? Did you ever asked them how are they feeling? I guess not, people
think depression is sadness, people think depression is crying, people think
depression is wearing black, but people are wrong about their understanding of
depression, depression is the constant feeling of being numb, being numb to
emotions, being numb to life, when you’re depressed you can’t control your
thoughts your thoughts control you, I’ am doing this blog so people could be
aware of this kind of matter.
Depression is
curable, but it is a sensitive matter, you must care for the person with depression,
you must treat him/her in a right way, give him/her time, attention, and understanding.
According to American Psychiatric
Association depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include:
·
Feeling sad or having a depressed mood
·
Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once
enjoyed
·
Changes in appetite — weight loss or gain
unrelated to dieting
·
Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much
·
Loss of energy or increased fatigue
·
Increase in purposeless physical activity or
slowed movements and speech
·
Feeling worthless or guilty
·
Difficulty thinking, concentrating or making
decisions
·
Thoughts of death or suicide
Depression is among the most treatable of mental disorders. Between 80 percent and 90 percent of people with depression eventually respond well to treatment. Almost all patients gain some relief from their symptoms.
Before a
diagnosis or treatment, a health professional should conduct a thorough
diagnostic evaluation, including an interview and possibly a physical
examination. In some cases, a blood test might be done to make sure the
depression is not due to a medical condition like a thyroid problem. The
evaluation is to identify specific symptoms, medical and family history, cultural
factors and environmental factors to arrive at a diagnosis and plan a course of
action.

To all the
people who are suffering, just remember that there is one person who loves you
the way you are, who loves you even with or without your flaws, have faith
within God, someday, everything will make perfect sense, for now, laugh at the
confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything
happens for a reason, you are much stronger than you think, and I want you to
know that.
